The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, General Gaston Reinig, visited officially the Croatian Armed Forces and the Chief of General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Josip Lucić, from 14 to 16 December 2009.

On the first day of the visit, two Chiefs of Defense and their teams had a staff briefing on the issues of Luxembourgian attitudes and practices regarding the military contribution to local authorities and communities and humanitarian organizations as well as Croatian participation in the peace support missions. Later in the day, General Gaston Reinig and the Luxembourgian delegation was received by the State Secretary of the Croatian Ministry of Defense, Mr. Pjer Šimunović and they exchanged experiences of the cooperation between the two countries.

During their stay in the Republic of Croatia, the Luxembourgian delegation visited the Special Operations Battalion in "Drgomalj" Barracks in Delnice where the members of the SOBn demonstrated their skills and prepared a tactical display of the equipment and weaponry. The visit continued in Brijuni and "Kovčanje" Barracks in Mali Lošinj.
