We wish to extend our gratitude to our friends from International Military Sports Council (CISM) who entrusted us with organizing this big sports competition of the world’s best military shooters. I wish to remind you of the 2nd World Military Games within which 35th Military World Shooting Championship took place at the Vrapčanski potok Shooting Range. 44th Military World Shooting Championship will be held in the same location with the participation of the teams from 45 countries and with more than 500 competitors and coaches. The compliments we have received for the previous organizations of big military sports competitions have always motivated us to be better and better hosts. This time too, our best professional teams have been engaged and we are sure that during this big sports competition you will feel comfortable and relaxed in the campus of Petar Zrinski Croatian Defense Academy and that Vrapčanski potok Shooting Range will motivate you to achieve highest sport results. It is with great joy and pride that I welcome you on behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 44th World Military Shooting Championship of the International Military Sports Council (CISM). In allegiance to the motto “Friendship through Sport”, the International Military Sports Council (CISM) aims to create lasting relationships between the Armed Forces of the world in the fields of sports, training and education. The Croatian Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces have participated in numerous championships and competitions during the last fourteen-year membership and have received international acknowledgement for the organization of military sports events. I wish to express you my appreciation for having entrusted Croatia with the organization of this event. The City of Zagreb and the terrains in surroundings are an ideal venue for this signifi cant assembly. Your presence in Croatia is a pleasure to us, because we can welcome you as friends, we can introduce you to our culture that we have been creating through thirteen centuries. While in Croatia, you will have the opportunity to learn how beautiful our country is, to experience the hospitality and benevolence of our people. The time we shall spend together will be the time of getting to know each other, which is the basis for future partnerships and co-operation, with the final goal of keeping peace in the world. Dear friends, you will be accommodated at the campus of Petar Zrinski Croatian Defense Academy and our entire infrastructure will be at your disposal. You may also use internet café in two locations as well as information desk with our hostesses.
