The Fourth NATO Staff Officer Course Completed

The fourth NATO Staff Officer Course was completed on 24th February in Rakitje. The aim of the course is to prepare the participants for performing staff duties in national contingents and NATO HQs in PSOs.
Comprehensive theoretical part of the course included modern aspects of warfare, especially peace-keeping operations. The participants were familiarized with civil-military cooperation, psychological operations, COIN – Counter Insurgency Operations, the role of media operations, etc. This kind of knowledge is essential for functioning in modern military environment and successful mission accomplishment. The course was conducted in English and completely based on NATO doctrine.
Combination of theory and practice was the best solution for the participants. Syndicate work supervised by mentors contributed to easier gaining of knowledge. Guest instructors from PSOTC (Peace Support operations Training Centre) from Bosnia and Herzegovina presented COIN principles and actively participated in final exercise as syndicate mentors. Course director, Cpt Miroslav Vagner, believes that long-lasting cooperation between PSOTC and IMOTC increases the course quality and facilitates future integration into the international environment. It is progressive and sequential course according to IMOTC Training Concept. Requirements for the course include good knowledge of English and successfully completed specific courses at IMOTC and officer/NCO school.

Commander's Welcome Address

IMOTC Commander - LtCol Ivica Plejic
LtCol Ivica Plejic

It is my privilege to welcome you to our website.

International Military Operations Centre was established in 2001. Apart from more than 1000 CAF soldiers, officers and NCOs who have been trained so far, over 120 participants of foreign armed forces from 36 countries all over the world have successfully completed training at IMOTC.

As a result of reorganization of the Croatian Armed Forces in November 2007, it changed its name into International Military Operations Training Centre (IMOTC). Its mission is to develop and conduct training of CAF individuals, teams and units for IMO, provide professional assistance to units conducting training for IMO and take part in evaluation of their training level.

Among various courses, IMOTC conducts pre-deployment training for CAF officers and NCOs and participants of UN and NATO peace support missions.

Great effort made by the Republic of Croatia to approach Euro-Atlantic integrations increasingly emphasizes the role of IMOTC in training activities for participation in IMO.

Apart from the development of new concept of training for IMO, another news on our website is the new on-line learning system - Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) - as the fastest and simplest way of acquiring and improving knowledge and preparing for courses at IMOTC.

We hope that you will find some useful information on training and courses conducted at IMOTC on our website and we are providing opportunity to learn something new very quickly and simply.
