Third meeting of Chiefs/Commanders of the regional centers for IMO

Meeting of the regional centers for IMO Croatian Army PSO Center held a meeting of Commanders / Chiefs of the regional center for international military operations (IMO) at the barracks Vitez Damir Martic in the period from 5th to 7th October 2009.

At a meeting with CAPSOC as the host were representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Armed Forces, and NORDCAPS Organization (The Nordic Coordinated Arrangement for Military Peace Support) with delegations from the training center of the Nordic countries (the Kingdom of Denmark, the Republic of Finland, the Kingdom of Norway and the Kingdom of Sweden) and delegations from the region (PSOTC Bosnia and Herzegovina, Peace-keeping operations Center of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia).

The purpose of this meeting was a continuation of earlier discussions on regional cooperation and information exchange within the framework of the implementation of training for international military operations commenced at meetings in 2007 in Skopje and in 2008 in Belgrade.

The emphasis of this year s meeting in the Republic of Croatia was on the training plans for one-or two-year period, the regional catalog of courses, as well as the possible number of participants and / or instructors that each individual center is ready to offer to others in the region.

Discussed the establishment of the interim management body for regional coordination initiative for education and training for the IMO, and accordingly the proposed development framework of action coordination body for advertising activities and exchange of information on courses in the region (Coordination Cell), as well as the start of the regional working groups Planning and support for the implementation of regional courses for IMO.

The meeting was held in the working atmosphere and the numerous discussions and concrete conclusions, all in order to speed up exchanging experiences in training for IMO, as well as to exchange students or instructors in international - regional courses.

It is my privilege to welcome you to our website.

International Military Operations Centre was established in 2001. Apart from more than 1000 CAF soldiers, officers and NCOs who have been trained so far, over 120 participants of foreign armed forces from 36 countries all over the world have successfully completed training at CAPSOC.

As a result of reorganization of the Croatian Armed Forces in November 2007, it changed its name into Croatian Army PSO Centre (CAPSOC). Its mission is to develop and conduct training of CAF individuals, teams and units for IMO, provide professional assistance to units conducting training for IMO and take part in evaluation of their training level.

Among various courses, CAPSOC conducts pre-deployment training for CAF officers and NCOs and participants of UN and NATO peace support missions.

Great effort made by the Republic of Croatia to approach Euro-Atlantic integrations increasingly emphasizes the role of CAPSOC in training activities for participation in IMO.

Apart from the development of new concept of training for IMO, another news on our website is the new on-line learning system - Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) - as the fastest and simplest way of acquiring and improving knowledge and preparing for courses at CAPSOC.
